Braided Ponytail
This hairstyle is a combination of a ponytail and a french braid. First you put your hair up in a nice tight ponytail, then you braid the loose tail. You can either do a standard three strand braid, or what is called a rope braid (top picture). This hairstyle fixes all of the problems that a normal ponytail has, there won't be hair in your eyes or mouth, and you won't fall victim to the blanket effect. The little end of the braid can still come around and hit you in the eyes, but it doesn't happen as often as with a normal ponytail. It also isn't as distracting as loose hair blowing in your face, and it doesn't get stuck in your mouth. The advantage to a rope braid is that it is MUCH quicker than a normal three strand braid. It takes a fraction of the amount of time and does a great job keeping your hair secure. The other big plus with it is that it is much quicker to fix than a normal braid. If hair starts to fall out is takes a quick 30 seconds to re-wrap the hair. So how does a braided ponytail measure up: 1. Keeps your hair in one chunk YES 2. Keeps it out of your eyes YES 3. Keeps it out of your mouth YES 4. It is secure and stable YES 5. It is quick, and easy to adjust YES |
